A LuigiBastardo rip of the Paragon VHS tape about which he says” gorillabiscuits recently put up a request for the original Thriller Video release of the US Grindhouse version of ZOMBI HOLOCAUST, wherein it was known under the far more artistic title, DOCTOR BUTCHER M.D. (MEDICAL DEVIATE). Sadly, I do not own the Thriller release, but I do have the Paragon Video version, which presents the same cut of the flick. Here, the original introduction has been scrapped in favor of footage from an unfinished (not to mention unrelated) Roy Frumkes joint, and several bits of re-editing have occurred, the most notable of which is an additional scene that appears to have been shot at another time and in another location (upstate New York, perhaps?). DOCTOR BUTCHER also sports an entirely different soundtrack: the music has been replaced by a low-budget (awful) Casio score, and a lot of screams and such have been re-dubbed. This was my first experience with the film (as it was with many from my age group), so it is being presented here from FBI Warning on (none of the usual Paragon trailers adorn this one, strangely enough) as a testament to those glorious nights where we would stay awake watching the grooviest sleaze we could get our hands on.”

The members of an expedition in search for the last faithful of Kito, the cannibal god, land on a small island in the Moluccas (East Indies) and are soon hunted by cannibals and zombies, these being created by a sinister Doctor O’Brien who is experimenting with corpses. Suzan, a sexy lady in the expedition team, eventually takes a hold on things, as she is accepted as queen of the cannibals, and direct them against the mad scientist and his army of zombies.
